Your Perfect Royal Wedding Day in London
The Royal wedding is approaching. Trust me; here in London, it’s already more than in the air…It’s everywhere! London is filled with images of Kate & William and it’s difficult not to think that after all, it will be quite cool to attend what will be one of the biggest events of the year worldwide.
I really can’t wait until THE big day.
Here at Housetrip, we just wanted to remind you to make sure you plan your London Royal day in the best possible way. You will have to organise your trip well in advance to get a glimpse of the most famous couple in the world.
First thing to do: Check out the video below, which shows a 3D tour of the route the Royal Wedding procession will take, from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Cathedral. You’ll need to think about where to stand (or camp, people will be arriving the day before to secure their spots to catch a glimpse of the Royal carriage!). We recommend 2 top spots:
- Along the Mall, the road that runs up to Buckingham Palace
- OR on Horseguards Parade or as high up the Victoria Memorial as you dare / are allowed!
Another option, if you want to avoid the main throng of crowds is to head to Hyde Park or Trafalgar Square to watch the day on one of the big screens; the location of these in relation to the route of the procession can be seen on this map:
Or on this one here.
PS: Don’t forget your Union Jack picnic chair!
Then, you will probably be a little hungry. We recommend you stop by at Quaglino’s. It’s only a short walk from Saint James Park It might be worth booking in advance. In the run up to the Royal nuptials they will be offering a Classic Set Lunch Menu, relaunching Afternoon Tea and revisiting the 1940s with an Original A La Carte Menu for dinner.
You won’t probably want to leave without your little unique Royal Wedding goodie.
Well, if you don’t feel like spending hours queuing to get something like this:

Also remember: If you live in London or own a London property and won’t be in town for the big day; you could make about £200 per night renting out your place over the Royal Wedding.
